Terms

Draft, under reviewLast updated October 2026.

These are the plain rules for using istimi. They are a draft and may change before the app is on the App Store.

Using istimi

You may use istimi, the iPhone app and the web app, for your own personal use.

Not a medical device

istimi is a sensory tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat any condition. It is not a replacement for care from a professional. If you are in danger or need urgent help, contact your local emergency services.

Sound and your ears

istimi starts quietly and never gets suddenly louder, but you control your phone's volume. Keep it at a level that is comfortable for you, especially with headphones.

Songs you make

Songs are made by a music service, or on your phone when the service cannot be reached. You may keep them and play them for your own personal use.

Fair use of the music service

Please do not try to misuse or overload the music service, or get around its limits. The number of songs that can be made in an hour is limited so that it stays available for everyone.

Your things

Everything you save in istimi stays on your phone. We never have a copy, so we cannot recover it for you. Use Your things to keep a copy in a file if you want one.

No guarantees

We work to keep istimi calm and dependable, but it is provided as it is. The music service may sometimes be unavailable, and features may change. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from using istimi.

Changes

If these terms change, this page will be updated and the date above will change with it.

Privacy

How istimi treats your information is on the privacy page.
